Before the decision-maker chooses agood compromise solution by considering tradeoffsbetween the competing criteria, the search domain canbe significantly reduced by only considering solutionsthat would potentially be candidates in the selection ofthe optimal solution. The set of retained solutions,called the Pareto domain, is obtained based on theconcept of dominance.
