People flee the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi， Kenya， on September 21 following an attack by Somali militants linked to Al Qaeda. The incident saw a death toll of 72 people， including five suspects. One femaleChinese national， aged 38， was killed， as confirmed by the Chinese Embassy in Kenya.
China strongly condemned the terrorist attack. “China opposes terrorism in any form. We expressour deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathy to those who were injured and the families of the deceased，”said Hong Lei， Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman， at a daily press briefing on September 24. This is thesecond time the Chinese Foreign Ministry has condemned the terrorist attack.
